Morley’s Rent-a-piano

Music can be a joy, an adventure and an escape but for some buying an instrument can seem daunting if you are not sure what you want or need now and in the future.

Piano Home Rental can be the answer, rent for a year and try before you buy, this may help you make your decision as to what is most suitable for you, with the option to buy or continue renting at the end of the year, or to take advantage of buying (either the piano you have or another from our wide selection of instruments).

Visit us to look at the pianos, to view and play, we will happily discuss options for buying or renting.

Elysian modern upright

Have you got a space in mind in your home for the piano to go? If so, measure the gap and also bring in a little video or pictures of the access if you are worried about how the piano will get in, are there any tight turns, stairs or lifts that need to be considered.  Do you want the piano to go in the sitting room, study, bedroom, office, dining room?

Home rental starts from £40.00 per month with an initial payment which covers delivery, collection, first month's rental, setup/admin, if you are SE London and ground floor (no stairs) this would be £320.00 followed by a monthly standing order of £40.00 per month.

We have lots of different new and second-hand upright piano makes, models, finishes and styles available with prices ranging from £40.00 per month to £190.00 + per month to suit all pockets, needs and abilities.

For other postcodes, stairs or lifts additional charges may apply so please ask. Stools may be rented with the piano or selected early keyboard instrument (spinets, clavichords and harpsichords) are also available on our home rental scheme.

Remember that the perfect piano for you now, may not be your forever piano, as you will grow and develop over time, this is why for beginners and those returning to the piano home rental can allow you to explore the sound and feel you enjoy as you learn and the music you prefer.

Checklist of things to think about:

  1. How much do you want to spend per month?
  2. What colour, style, make or model are you interested in … remember if your access is tight or difficult, a modern shaped upright without legs will always be easier to accommodate.  If you are trying to match furniture, floors or colours in a room bring pictures as this will help visualising in the room it is going to go in and we may be able to suggest pianos to suit.
  3. Do you like a bright or a mellow sound?
  4. All rental paperwork needs to be completed and signed at Morleys when you visit to choose your piano, so do bring bank details and ID (utility bill, driving licence etc).
  5. If you have underfloor heating or particularly hard acoustics in the room talk to us about solutions.
  6. If there are other family members to consider ask if they have thoughts or preferences

Many rent for several years before they are ready to decide and other just like to rent knowing that when they do not want the piano any more it will be collected or they can upgrade and buy a different piano to suit their needs.

So, who is home rental suitable for?  Really anyone who wants an acoustic piano, from children and adults who are starting to learn the piano or accompany other musicians and singers, adults who have played in the past and want to return to the piano and rediscover music, those who want to play to relax and quieten the mind away from technology and noise of our modern world, whatever your reason Home Piano Rental is a flexible option to allow you time to explore and enjoy the piano and playing.

If however, when visit to choose your piano you see one which is perfect always ask about purchase options.
